Hey! I'm Randy!
It's nice to meet you.

Dad. Grand-Dad.

And Neighbor.

I am a graduate of St. Johns University (a long time ago) and a long-time resident of
Sartell. My wife and I have raised two children in the 748 school district and have a
granddaughter entering 1st grade this Fall in Sartell. I am a former data analyst and
database developer as well as a professor of database creation and use. I recently became a licensed driving instructor and teach t'ai chi classes. And when I’m not doing any of those other things, I love woodworking, landscaping, and reading.

A little about me

Dad and Grandpa

I genuinely think that being a father was my one true calling. In my life there is nothing that I consider more impactful than my wife and I raising two incredible people. Sartell schools were a major part of that. Now that I am a grandpa, that has become even
more evident.

Educator

I love to teach. I teach T’ai Chi classes and recently became a licensed driving
instructor. For a time I was an adjunct
professor at MN School of Business and enjoyed it. Having also been a volunteer for
Junior Achievement, I have come to the realization that true educational training,
especially age-specific training, cannot be respected enough.

Community Member

I love Sartell. I love the spirit and the people. I’d like to get more involved in continuing
to make this a wonderful place to live and get an education.

Our students are the people who make this community thrive, the people who keep our schools full of learning and laughter, and who have inspired me to run for this position. They come first. They will always come first.

Transparency for All.

As parents we are our kids' first educators - and should be involved in our schools - but the expertise and time of our educators must be respected. When families and educators are able to work as a team we all do better.

Supporting those who make our schools run.

I know how good our teachers are. And I hope you do too. However, keeping the best here and bringing new teachers in is difficult. We need a culture that attracts and retains excellent educators.

Helping our kids be the best they can be.

We must find ways to bolster our mental health support systems for students and educators, while building a culture that normalizes asking for help and checking in on our friends.
